My wife and I were on our anniversary when my wife visited Maggie Mountaineer Crafts. She purchased a Switch Blade Knife for roughly 120.00 as a gift for me. When she got back to The Vally Inn all excited about the gift she just purchased and gave it to me I told her that it was illegal for me to carry. I then googled it to confirm . We decided to take it back to explain the illegality and get a refund. The lady behind the counter saw my wife holding the knife she had just purchased and ask with eyebrows raised is their a problem? I told her that I couldn't use or carry the knife because it was illegal. With a GROWL she told me that it was legal their and ask me where I lived? Before I could answer she ask if I forgot where I lived? I feel this was uncalled for, unprofessional and rude. She then refunded the purchase price. I told her that I would be posting a review of our anniversary trip to her store. This encounter was unfortunate as we will never darken their doorstep again. I hope this post helps others thinking of a visit.
Visiting here is a family tradition when camoing in Maggie Valley!! Always consistently good customer service. Homemade fudge is some of the best you'll eat! And a family picture at the front display is a must!!
